Composite Bonding

Composite Bonding

Composite bonding is also known as direct composite veneers or cosmetic dental bonding. It is the process of applying a tooth-coloured resin on top of your existing teeth. The special dental resin fixes decay, chips, fractures, discolouration and gaps and can also be used in place of some types of fillings. Speak to your dentist to find out if this is a good procedure for you.

A Less Expensive Option

Composite bonding may be used as an alternative to porcelain veneers if you have minimal damage to your teeth. Composite bonding is also a less expensive choice than porcelain but bonding easily discolours or chips.

Be careful with chewing tough objects like hard candies and stop biting those nails if you want the bonding to last. Stay away from red wine, tea, cigarettes, and smoking for about 24-48 hours after you have had the treatment.

Note that porcelain veneers are the only choice for more severe tooth damage.
